What is Killing Your Productivity?

Most everyone has at least one thing in their life that sucks the time out of their productivity.  A lot of the time you are not even aware of what it is or how much time you waste on it. If you feel you could be productive  I recommend is to keep a log of what you do during the day for a week or so and see how much time you spend on all your different activities during the day. My guess is that you will surprised of how much time is going to activities that are not really doing you any good.  The two things I have to keep in check are email and the phone. (more…)

Is All That Hype Really Needed?

(or Remember,  just because it is on the internet does not make it true)

I am sure that many of you have seen that same ads for miracle programs that are ready to turn you into instant millionaires with the click of a few buttons and no work.  Now let us be honest, I am sure that  more than a few of us have actually spent money at least once on something that we knew somewhere in the back of our mind was to good to be true.  Seriously is someone really going to sell you the secrets to the universe for $47? Probably not going to happen and most of us know it. (more…)

What have you done Today?

Take a look at your day and ask yourself if you have done anything to further your long term goals. If the answer is no then you have to ask yourself why this is true. Is it because you are not sure what actions to take? Is it because you did not have the time? Is it because you do not have a clear set of goals, both long and short term? Is it because you are always planning on doing something tomorrow?

If you want to accomplish something then you have to make sure that you set clear goals and then arrange your life in such a way that makes it possible to achieve those goals. You have to have a system that works for YOU. There are a lot of different systems out there that will help you plan and organize your life or you can make one up yourself. It does not really matter which system you use as long as you find one that allows you to spend your time and energy wisely and make progress towards where you want to be in the future. Remember wasted time is something you will never get back.

While what particular system you choose to use is not really important, it does need to have certain characteristics. (more…)
